Amazon: Prime Video customers don't own purchased content

Amazon argued in federal court that Prime Video customers do no own content they purchase on the streaming service.

Instead, Amazon officials say customers are paying for a limited license for “on-demand viewing over an indefinite period of time.”

The point was made this week as part of a lawsuit filed in April. Amanda Caudel, of Fairfield, California, is alleging Amazon has deceived, misled and defrauded consumers by selling content at premium prices while giving them the impression that they own it.
