Talent Recruitment a Groups’ Effort

“It’s a big deal and it’s working, but it’s because we’re all working together and collaborating through all the different elements,” says Heather Hardinger, Director of Workforce Strategy and Programs with Taney County Partnership. Hardinger says they have recruited more than 500 Puerto Ricans to work in the area since 2017, many of of which are primarily Spanish-speaking. Hardinger says local people are making the recruits feel welcomed and they created a Hispanic Workforce Coalition last year, but they have also received support from the Kansas City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Hardinger is a Springfield Business Journal 2019 40 Under 40 honoree.
